Car show planned for Monday in Decker Park

The Historical Society of Oak Creek and Phippsburg and the town of Oak Creek are sponsoring a locals car show at 1 p.m. Monday in Decker Park. All owners of classic cars and motorcycles are invited to participate. At 3 p.m., cars from the Great Race cross country vintage car race will come to Decker Park.

Taste of South Routt



is Saturday in Oak Creek

The annual Taste of South Routt, featuring live music, games and food from area restaurants, is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in Oak Creek.



High Country Garden Tour starts at 8:30 a.m. July 3

The ninth annual Steamboat Springs High Country Garden Tour is July 3.

The daylong event, a benefit for the Strings in the Mountains Music Festival, begins at 8:30 a.m. at the new Strings tent with coffee, a garden market and the work of artists.

At 9 a.m., Scott Skogerboe of Fort Collins Nursery Wholesale will present an educational lecture with slides on “The Best of the Hardiest.” From 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., attendees go on a self-guided tour of seven featured Yampa Valley gardens while musicians entertain and master gardeners explain each garden.

Tickets are $20 in advance at the Strings Box Office or $23 on tour day at the tent.

Free ultrasounds offered at Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is offering free ultrasounds for pregnant women. Call 879-2212.

Lava Lava Island Vacation Bible School starts July 19

The Hayden Congregational Church offers Lava Lava Island Vacation Bible School for 4-year-olds through eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to noon, July 19 through 23, sponsored by Mission of Grace Baptist Church and Hayden Congregational Church. Registration forms are available at the church or at the Hayden Public Library; drop off the completed forms at the library. Call 276-3110 or 276-3510.

Fresh Air Fitness offers Hatha Yoga for students

Fresh Air Fitness is offering Hatha Yoga for beginner- and intermediate-level students from 5:30 to 6:50 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays on its outdoor fitness deck. The drop-in rate is $8. Call 846-3356.

Yoga for Kids is available mornings at Yampa Blue

Yoga for Kids is being offered Monday and Wednesday mornings through July 28 at Yampa Blue. Classes for ages 2 through 6 meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and classes for ages 7 through 13 meet from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The cost is $5 per class, with the first class free.
