Youth Corps looking for community volunteers

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is looking for community members to volunteer for its field-based workshops this summer.

Workshop topics are related to life skills such as career development, leadership and healthy lifestyles.

State, local cyclists eligible for Courage Classic



Cyclists in Steamboat Springs and across Colorado are gearing up for the 17th annual Courage Classic, a benefit for The Children’s Hospital.

The event is July 22-24. Last year’s Courage Classic raised more than $1.6 million for the hospital.

Race events include the traditional three-day, 157-mile bike ride; the Century Option, during which advanced cyclists head up Ute Pass to tackle an additional 100 miles; and the Taste of Courage, a one-day ride for cyclists of all ages.

Community members urged to donate food

LIFT-UP of Routt County is in need of food donations for its food bank.

The nonprofit organization is urging community members to donate food to the Steamboat food bank.

Needed items include tuna, canned vegetables, canned beans, canned fruit, pancake mix, syrup, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes.

Personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner are also being accepted.

Donations will benefit struggling local individuals and families.

Donations can be dropped off at the food bank at Seventh and Aspen streets.
