NEW YEAR’S EVE CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The Tugboat Saloon in Ski Time Square celebrates its 30th anniversary with The Fabulous Boogienauts Sunday and Monday (New Year’s Eve).

The Denver-based octet plays high-energy power disco. The band combines novelty 1970s sitcoms and music with dated science fiction and retro-disco fashions and motifs. The Boogienauts consist of Phat Bob on drums, Stan Shazzam on guitars, Rocky Ramjett on bass, Andrew “Tubaca” on trombone, tuba and percussion, Mike “The Rover” on alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, vocals, percussion and sampler, Brad “No. 1” on trumpet and vocals, Dust’n Glitter on vocals and Vudu Cain on tenor saxophone and lead vocals.

Patrons are limited to 200. Line up at the door for first-come, first-served admission. Cost is $25, doors open at 8 p.m. Call 879-7070 for more information.

The Wolf Den Tavern features Tab Benoit on New Year’s Eve.

Benoit, a native of the bayous of Louisiana, plays a Cajun rock ‘n’ blues mix and has recorded two hit albums, “Standing on the Bank” and “These Blues Are All Mine.” Benoit played in Louisiana’s own Tabby’s Blues Box and Heritage Hall to gain acceptance from true blues fans.

Benoit still lives in his hometown of Houma, La., where improvising and spontaneity keep him trucking along with even better guitar licks and more blues ballads.

Levelz in Ski Time Square presents a New Year’s Eve Bash with the Boulder-based band Sucker and a guest disc jockey.

Also, DJ Paradox will spin tunes downstairs at Lupo’s. Sucker will begin recording its third CD this winter. The band’s sound is a mixture of reggae and funk. Sucker includes Aaron Snyder on bass and vocals, Steve Vidaic on electronics, keys and vocals, Rodney “Rocket” Coquia on guitar and vocals and Aaron “JR Mint” Ficca on drums and vocals.

The cover charge is $25 including complimentary hors d’oeuvres and admission into Lupo’s. The Lupo’s cover charge is $5. Call 870-9090 for more information.

The Bear River Bar & Grill presents New Orleans jazz guitarist John Lisi for New Year’s Eve.

A pre-New Year’s Eve party will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. today for sixth- through eighth-grade students at the Teen Center, 11th Street and Yampa Avenue.

Admission is $3.

A static party with live DJs spinning tunes for those younger than 21 will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at The Underground, 11th Street and Yampa Avenue. Admission is $3. Call 879-4300 for more information.

A New Year’s Disco Party will be held at 9 p.m. Monday at Toys in the Attic.

The Cottonwood Grill will offer a four-course meal for New Year’s Eve.

There will be two seatings. The second seating, at 9 p.m., will include a champagne toast at midnight and a live jazz performance by Rex Matzke Trio.

It’s a flashback New Year’s Eve party at 10 p.m. at the Old Town Pub at the corner of Sixth Street and Lincoln Avenue.

The Riverbend Roadhouse will host a Westenders New Year’s Eve party with buffet and live music by 3 Wire.
