National Prescription Drug Takeback Day offers secure drop-offs across Yampa Valley
Residents across Colorado are being encouraged to clear out their medicine cabinets as part of National Prescription Drug Takeback Day on Saturday, April 26.
The annual event, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, offers a safe and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications.
Accepted items include opioids, empty inhalers and unused prescription creams and patches. Trash, sharps or syringes, thermometers, chemotherapy medication and illicit substances are not accepted.
Medication Takeback collection sites in the Yampa Valley:
- Yampa Valley Medical Center, 1024 Central Park Drive, Steamboat Springs
- Safeway Pharmacy, 37500 U.S. Highway 40, Steamboat Springs
- Bonfiglio Drug, 118 Main St., Oak Creek
- Hayden Police Department, 249 Hawthorne St.
- Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, West 1st St., Craig
