Michelle Dover: Vote ‘yes’ on 2B

The fingerprints of the half-cent sales tax are all over the success of the Steamboat Springs School District. The district is currently ranked third in the state academically. Ten percent of the district’s budget is funded with this sales tax. Small class sizes, which lead to student success are the result of the sales tax funding 17 teachers this year alone.

The tax was extended to Hayden and South Routt schools districts in 2009, and more recently, to the Montessori School. The community’s continued commitment to this sales tax shows the value Steamboat places on education for everyone’s children.

Join me in voting “yes” on the 2B to renew the half-cent sales tax and spread continued success to all Routt County students.
