Michelle and Mike Petix: Thank you to anonymous hero

Thank you to the unknown person who picked up our 16-year-old daughter, Corey, on the snowy morning of Monday, Dec. 4 after she rolled her beloved 1984 Bronco on Routt County Road 16 in Stagecoach.

It must have been unnerving to see her climb out of the broken window of the upside-down vehicle. It was still dark, she could not find her phone and knew there was no reception there, so you were truly an angel to stop and give her a ride back to our house.

She was remarkably and thankfully physically unharmed. A hard lesson to learn but one that will stay with her for a lifetime … just when you think you are going slow enough, slow down a little more.

She only got your first name, Paxton, and I had hoped that we would find you through our various community connections but alas like a comic book hero, you remained anonymous.

Please know that our entire family is so very grateful for your selfless actions. Wishing you and yours a safe and joyous holiday season.
