Mary Korch: Thanks to a kind stranger

Special thanks to a very kind, considerate gentleman named Chris.

Late Friday morning, I slid off into deep snow on the exit ramp at Mount Werner.  Within minutes in the midst of blowing snow, a pickup pulled over. The driver rolled down his window and offered his help. Traffic was backing up, and some vehicles were passing around us on the very narrow road.

Chris pulled out a tow strap and shovel, dug out deep snow from the front and back of my SUV, hooked up the strap and began to pull me out. With a good amount of persistence, he got me out and back up on the road.

Chris, you took some risk out in that traffic with low visibility to help a stranger. I may have mumbled a “thank you,” but with the hope that you read this, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you. Your kindness has reminded me to never hesitate to step forward, as you did, to give a helping hand to someone in need.
