Markus Kleet: Thanks to anonymous rescuers from Steamboat

Our lives were saved by Steamboat residents.

My wife, Kelly, and I capsized on a rapid just below Radium on the Upper Colorado River Saturday. We kept getting pulled under and banged around while losing body heat rapidly.

A group of certified swift water rescuers from Steamboat in various craft rendered heroic aide and brought us to safety. Without them, we would not be alive. Although I am a very strong swimmer, I got very weak due to hypothermia and my wife swallowed a lot of water.

We regret that we didn’t write down their names and contact information but want to use this venue to again thank them from the bottom of our heart for their selfless intervention and saving our lives. We hope they’ll be able to read this.

Sincerely,
Markus Klett
