Man revived after suffering heart attack at Steamboat Ski Area

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A 71-year-old man was revived Sunday after having a cardiac event at Steamboat Ski Area.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m.

Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Chuck Cerasoli said witnesses saw the man collapse.

Medical professionals were in the area and cared for the man. He was brought to Rendezvous Lodge where a portable automated external defibrillator was used to shock the man three times to restart his heart.

The man was also intubated so he could breath, and he was administered medication.

Ski Patrol members then brought the man down the ski area, and he was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.
