Man pleads not guilty in child porn case

— A 44-year-old man accused of possessing child pornography pleaded not guilty to the charge Wednesday in Routt County Court.

Anthony Louis Carlson pleaded not guilty to sexually exploiting a child, a misdemeanor, during the hearing.

The case now will go to trial.

Carlson’s two-day trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 30.

The man’s attorney, Larry Combs, said Deputy District Tammy Jenson will not be prosecuting the case because she has resigned from the DA’s Office.

Assistant District Attorney Kerry St. James, who does not normally prosecute misdemeanor cases, will take over the case, Combs said.

Carlson was arrested in July after investigators allegedly found child pornography on a computer that had been confiscated from Carlson’s home during an investigation last summer.

Investigators only found the alleged child pornography at the end of July.
