Man OK after hit-and-run accident

— A Steamboat Springs man was not injured Tuesday night when he was run over by a woman driving near Village Drive and Walton Creek Road.

Steamboat Springs police Sgt. Nick Bosick said Marc Peter was walking up Walton Creek Road when the woman, who was driving a white Honda with an antenna on the back, struck the man as she made a left turn off Village Drive onto Walton Creek Road.

Peter reportedly told police that he saw the woman look at him in her rearview mirror as she drove away from the accident scene without stopping, Bosick said.

Bosick said Peter was walking back from fishing when the accident happened.

Peter was not able to get the woman’s license plate before she drove off, though she reportedly has long, blonde hair, Bosick said.

The woman also was driving without her headlights, he said.

Anyone with information can call the police department at 879-4344.
