12:47 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers received a noise complaint after about 15 people climbed a fence to sneak into a pool in the 2000 block of Walton Creek Road.
7:57 a.m. Officers conducted code enforcement after a bear got into a trash can in the 200 block of Locust Court.
9:07 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called about a burglary at a business in the 20600 block of Routt County Road 205. Someone allegedly broke into an office and stole a cashbox, but there was no money inside.
10:25 a.m. A man received a call from someone who claimed to be with Colorado State Patrol, saying the man’s grandson was in jail. He contacted the police, and officers assured him it was a scam.

1:04 p.m. A property owner notified officers of people trespassing into a building that soon will be condemned in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road.
1:28 p.m. A tenant who recently received an eviction notice called officers to complain that he did not like how the landlord notified him of the eviction.

2:39 p.m. Officers received a call from a man who claimed his ex-wife stole his car. It turned out to be a misunderstanding because the two share ownership of the vehicle.
3:36 p.m. The owner of a condominium unit in the 1900 block of Cornice Road asked officers for help evicting a tenant.
4:17 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters received a call about a structure fire at a unit on the third floor of a condominium complex in the 3200 block of Apres Ski Way. Firefighters extinguished a smoldering fire on a wall in the unit’s kitchen. The fire also burst a waterline, which caused minor damage to two units below. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
5:30 p.m. Steamboat firefighters received a call about a vehicle fire in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. It turned out to be oil that poured onto the engine and created smoke after the car overheated.
9:39 p.m. Officers received a call about a bear rummaging through a dumpster in the 1500 block of Pine Grove Road.
Total incidents: 53
- Steamboat officers had 34 cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
- Routt County deputies had 15 cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
- Steamboat firefighters responded to four calls for service.
