Man accused of sexually assaulting child

— Bond has been set at $1 million for a 67-year-old man who is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile girl on four occasions in 2012.

The man was extradited from outside Colorado and arrived at the Routt County Jail on Wednesday night.

The Routt County District Attorney’s Office has filed four Class 3 felony charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. He also is charged with two counts of sexual assault, a Class 4 felony. Public Defender Sheryl Uhlmann was representing the man in court Thursday.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today typically does not publish the names of people accused of sex crimes until they have been convicted.

The man is set to return to court at 1 p.m. Oct. 29.
