Maddox letter: Brenner mistaken about Steamboat Airport

Brenner misses point on Steamboat airport

The article regarding Councilman Ken Brenner’s comments on the airport have me rethinking my investment policies.

Mr. Brenner thinks that the $91,983 that the city may have to invest in the airport this year is not worth the $7.5 million dollar annual return. That is the possible cost less the bonded indebtedness, which would have to be paid in any event.

Please put me in contact with his investment advisor. If they are getting a better return on any investment in this city we should all have gold-plated water mains.

The real issue is that certain persons want the land for real estate development and are willing to distort any fact and trample anything in their path to achieve personal financial gain; all at an irretrievable loss to the Steamboat taxpayer.

For the real story, look to the money.
