Lucille S. Hatton, 85, of Steamboat Springs, died Oct. 18, 2001, at Doak Walker Care Center.

Lucy was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Coffeeville, Kan., the daughter of the late Joseph and Arlene (Hugens) Steaphenson.

Lucille was married and widowed three times, with her first marriage to Robert Paquin, then Harold Hess, and lastly to Carl Hatton.

She was employed, prior to her retiring, at the Montgomery Ward department store in Denver as a data entry/computer clerk.

She has resided in Routt County since the autumn of 1995 and was a resident of The Haven in Hayden before her move to Doak Walker.

Lucy enjoyed sewing, fishing, reading and keeping abreast of current events.

She is survived by her son, Fred Hess and wife Debbie of Stagecoach; a daughter, Arloa Goldstone and husband Bud of Los Angeles; and two grandsons, Chester Goldstone and Derek Hess.

Private family services will be held.

Cremation has taken place. Peterson Funeral Home of Steamboat Springs assisted the family with arrangements.
