Lost hunter found in Jackson County

— Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers began to organize a search for a possible lost hunter in the Buffalo Pass area at about 4 p.m. today, but they were called off when the person was found in Jackson County.

Incident Commander Dawn Alperti said the team was notified that a personal locator beacon had been going off since about 2 p.m. She said the first ping showed that the person was in Routt County, but subsequent readings were from Jackson County.

Alperti said Jackson County sent a search team, and they found the man before 5 p.m. She said she did not know his condition.
