Lost drinking buddy: The Record for Thursday, May 2

1:12 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers received a report of a missing person in the 400 block of Ore House Plaza. A man had lost his friend after a night of drinking, but he did not give officers any information about what his friend looks like.  

7:43 a.m. Officers investigated a vehicle that appeared to have been vandalized inside a parking garage in the 1600 block of Ski Time Square.  

11:51 a.m. A woman called officers to report that her dog had been stolen from her car in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue. She soon found the dog a few blocks away. It had jumped out of the car through an open window. 

11:54 a.m. Officers helped a man find his car that he had parked the night before and forgotten where. Officers eventually found the car in the 2100 block of Overlook Lane.

7:29 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters assisted a person who was having a seizure at Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue.

9:08 p.m. Officers received a complaint about delivery trucks making too much noise outside a hotel in the 3100 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

9:27 p.m. A caller notified officers about a bathroom that “had a really bad night” at a hotel in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle. 

Total incidents: 36

  • Steamboat officers had 19 cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
  • Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies had 13 cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
  • Steamboat firefighters responded to three calls for service.
  • West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters responded to one call for service.
