Lodging tax steering committee interviews postponed until January because of volume of applications

— The interviews for the new lodging tax steering committees have been postponed until January because of the high volume of applications the city received for the positions.

Instead, the Steamboat Springs City Council on Dec. 17 will spend some time narrowing down the list of applicants.

The interviews now will be conducted Jan. 7, according to City Clerk Julie Franklin.

The city received more than 20 applications for the trails steering committee and 11 applications for the Yampa River Promenade steering committee.

The committees will help to oversee funding of trail projects and the promenade.
