Local connection to Panama Canal documentary

— Alan Krause, a resident of Steamboat Springs for many years who is now chairman and CEO of the international engineering firm MWH Global, with offices in Broomfield, is urging Yampa Valley residents to tune in to a one-hour television special on the new Panama Canal, which MWH designed.

The documentary airs at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 11 on the History Channel, and Krause reports that several members of the MWH staff appear in the show.

Steamboat Pilot and Today published a story about the role of Krause and his company in the historic widening of the canal to accommodate larger freighters in late December 2011 — about the time Krause became CEO.
