Letter to the editor: Steamboat is a family town with good-hearted people

Our family vacationed in Steamboat Springs the week of March 11. Quite unfortunately, and stupidly, we were trading out our GoPro while on the Sunshine lift, and it fell to the snow.

We circled back as soon as we got off the lift but no GoPro. Given other life experiences, we thought that it was gone for good — so many “finders keepers” people in this world. As disappointing as the monetary loss was the realization that three days of our memories were gone, especially difficult for the grandchildren.

But Steamboat is a neighborly place where good Samaritans do exist. Three young ladies turned in the GoPro and left us a video message telling us to have a great vacation. We have no idea of their identity but wanted to thank them and Steamboat in general for being a wonderful family town with truly good-hearted people.

Much appreciated.
