Letter to the Editor: Mark Fischer
How about a feel good story about Steamboat Springs?
This community has been developing classical music education and programs for our children for more than 25 years. I suspect more than 1,000 children have learned or are learning violin, cello, piano, flute and other instruments. Some students have gone on to careers with orchestras around the country.
This weekend, Anna Roder, a student of Teresa Steffen Greenlee, currently playing violin in London, England, will perform the difficult but wildly entertaining Brahm’s Violin Concerto in D here in Steamboat Springs with the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. Add John Fielder’s photographs of his tribute to the Yampa River to selections of Beethoven, Vivaldi and John Williams and you have every reason to be proud of living in the Yampa Valley supporting and enjoying classical music.
Maestro Ernest Richardson again educates and entertains while leading the orchestra and Anna Roder. Celebrate the fruits of local classical music education and the beauty of the Yampa River. Don’t miss it.
