Letter to the Editor: Congrats to the Sailors
Congratulations to the Steamboat Springs Sailors hockey team on their state championship. I’ve been coaching in Colorado since 1998 and have always appreciated the Steamboat Springs Hockey program. We’ve had many great games over the years, and this past championship game was no different.
All the boys battled. When we (Glenwood) went through the handshake line, you could tell the Sailors were coached, parented and educated correctly. The boys were very humble. The Sailors played a great game and earned the state title.
Congrats to Coach Ripley and his boys. Heck and Angus are certainly stand-up players and always have been difficult to play against, along with all the other boys that bring it every single game. The Sailors will represent the state of Colorado and the mountains very well. See you soon.
