Letter: Thank you for supporting Routt County 4-H

We, the Colorado State University Routt County Extension Office, love helping our community address important and emerging issues using dynamic, science-based educational resources. We are here to help answer your questions on gardening, indoor air quality, water/soil/hay testing, food preservation, small acreage management, plant and bug identification and much more.
But we don’t stop there. One of the nation’s largest youth organizations, 4-H, is also part of CSU Routt County Extension. The vision of 4-H is to create a world in which youth and adults learn, grow and work together as catalysts for positive change. The Routt County Fair 4-H shows are the culmination of months of hard work and bring our community together.
That work is on full display at the Routt County Junior Livestock Sale. Our 4-H youth are responsible for bringing in buyers for the 147 head of animals brought to the sale.
Each 4-H livestock member is committed to raising a quality, market-ready animal to the sale. In return, our community supports the 4-H youth by purchasing their locally raised animals. Because of the generosity and support of our amazing community, Routt County has one of the best 4-H programs in the state.
To all of our 4-H supporters, we would like to thank you. We wish there were more ways to recognize each and every one of you for all that you do for 4-H. Each year, the Steamboat Pilot & Today sponsors a full page ad where we thank all our buyers, add-ons, supporters, volunteers and sponsors. And unfortunately, each year we miss thanking someone.
This year was no different, and we left off several supporters in the ad. Because of these omissions, we will be running an additional thank you ad in today’s newspaper. Please look for this and help us recognize all the people who help “To Make the Best Better” for Routt County 4-H.
CSU Routt County Extension is here to help you. Stop by our office at 136 6th St. with your questions, and we will find you the answer. Call us at 970-879-0825, email us at rcextension@co.routt.co.us or just stop in and meet your friendly county Extension staff.
Thank you Routt County.
Todd Hagenbuch, director and agriculture agent
Tami Eggers, 4-H youth development agent
Libby Christensen, family and consumer science and 4-H agent
