Congratulations to Ian Fralick, who recently was recognized as a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization at the University of Northern Colorado. Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and provides members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment.


With cold weather coming up, flu shots are being offered at a low rate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 at Hayden Town Hall. Shots will be offered to adults 18 and older. A clinic for children will be offered later in the month.

The Hayden Girl Scouts are out and about selling nuts and candy. If you don’t get contacted and would like to order or have a daughter who would like to help with Girl Scouts, call Lori Laird at 970-846-0782.

Homecoming starts this week with the following events at the school and across town:

■ 7 p.m. today: Macho volleyball game, high school gym.

■ 7:30 p.m. Thursday: Powderpuff football followed by a bonfire

■ 1 p.m. Friday: Parade followed by the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. against the Paonia Eagles.
