The Hayden Girl Scouts met to work on merit badges. For their next badge, the girls will collect for the LIFT-UP of Routt County Hayden Food Bank from 1 to 5 p.m. March 19 at the Hayden Mercantile. Come support them and give to a great cause.
The fifth annual Moonshine Wine & Dine is at 6 p.m. March 12. Proceeds benefit Rocky Mountain Youth Corps’ Yampa Valley Science School. To buy tickets or for more information about the event that includes moonlight snowshoeing and cross-country skiing and a silent auction, call 970-879-2135.
The Solandt Memorial Hospital Ball, a fundraiser to benefit the hospital, will be held at 7 p.m. March 19 at the Haven Community Center. The event will start with a social hour and includes an auction and dancing with music from Loose Change. The American Legion will serve hamburgers for $5 a plate. Everyone is welcome.
The next Hayden Public Library book discussion club meets at 7:30 p.m. March 29. They will discuss “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing.” Call 970-276-3777.

Garage sale in May
