The Hayden Girl Scouts met to work on merit badges. For their next badge, the girls will collect for the LIFT-UP of Routt County Hayden Food Bank from 1 to 5 p.m. March 19 at the Hayden Mercantile. Come support them and give to a great cause.

The fifth annual Moonshine Wine & Dine is at 6 p.m. March 12. Proceeds benefit Rocky Mountain Youth Corps’ Yampa Valley Science School. To buy tickets or for more information about the event that includes moonlight snowshoeing and cross-country skiing and a silent auction, call 970-879-2135.

The Solandt Memorial Hospital Ball, a fundraiser to benefit the hospital, will be held at 7 p.m. March 19 at the Haven Community Center. The event will start with a social hour and includes an auction and dancing with music from Loose Change. The American Legion will serve hamburgers for $5 a plate. Everyone is welcome.

The next Hayden Public Library book discussion club meets at 7:30 p.m. March 29. They will discuss “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing.” Call 970-276-3777.

Hayden Parks and Recreation is kicking off its new sponsorship, donation and volunteer drive for the Community Care & Share Program. Everyone can support this program. For more information, call Kathy Hockett at 970-734-4168.

The After Prom committee is gearing up for this year’s festivities. Committee members are looking for volunteers to help get donations, door prizes and run After Prom. If you want to volunteer or make a donation, call Angela Letlow at 970-276-2001.

Garage sale in May

Mark your calendars for the annual Spring Fling Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 at the Routt County Fairgrounds. Booths are available for rental inside the exhibit building and outside in the parking lot. For more information, call Sue Fulton at 970-276-3386.
