Scouting news

The Daisy Girl Scout Troop went on the Adventure Day. The girls enjoyed doing the maze, putt-putt golfing and watching the "Marmaduke" movie. Whittney Lighthizer and Isabella Osborn attended, and leaders Amanda Archuleta and Lori Laird also went.

The Hayden Girl Scouts had their year-end Awards Ceremony, which was a potluck dinner for the girls, leaders and family. They held this event at Hayden Town Park. The girls were presented with their badges, which they earned throughout the year, cookie awards and prizes. Isabella Osborn, Whittney Lighthizer, Joey Deckler, Riley Owens, Wynter Lighthizer, Shelby Archuleta, Brisha Archuleta, Cerra Skufca, Nocona Falk and Kara Cozzens attended the event along with their leaders, Amanda Archuleta, Karen Scheie, Penny Falk and Lori Laird.

Classes offered

Colorado Northwestern Community College is offering classes Mondays at the Hayden Public Library called Kids, Have Fun and Improve your Reading and Becoming a Proficient Babysitter. Classes start Monday.

Community celebration

Hayden Daze is just around the corner and will be celebrated July 17. They are looking for anybody who would like to put a float in the parade, which will be at 11 a.m. The theme is celebrate sports. For more information, call Kathy Hockett at 734-4168 or stop by the Parks and Recreation Department office.

Teen Center open

The Teen Center is open from 6 to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 4 to 11 p.m. Saturdays at Hayden Valley Elementary School. They have foosball, open gym basketball and other games to play.
