Laurie Hallenbeck: Hayden news for June 20

— Happy birthday wishes to Randy Delay, Todd Kelton, Tyler Brazelton, Jesse McAvoy and Phillip Dorr.

Terry and Candy Powers and Candy's parents, who live in Denver, vacationed in Branson, Mo. They went sightseeing and to some of the amusement parks.

Recent happenings

The Hayden Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts went to Glenwood Springs for a few days. They went to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park where they rode the tram and the Alpine Slide. They also went to the hot springs pool in Glenwood. Joey Deckler, Tahlea Carbajal, Winter Lighthizer, Zoey Hammer, Nacona Falk, Cerra Skufca, and Brisha and Shelby Archuleta had a great time along with leaders Amanda Archuleta, Karen Schie and guests Judy Schie and Lori Laird.

The Haven barbecue and fundraiser was a great success. About 200 people attended.

The Goodtimes 4-H club had its monthly 4-H meeting at The Haven. They met, provided demonstrations and planted flowers for the seniors to enjoy. They also had punch and cookies and visited with the seniors.

The Outdoor Adventure Club had two hiking adventures this past week. On Tuesday, they went to Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Then on Thursday, they went to Rabbit Ears Pass. Because of the snow up on the pass, they didn't get clear to the "Ears," but they had a good time anyway. They will do two more hikes this week. For more information, call Christine Epp at 276-3363.
