Lana and Tom Geselbracht: A word of thanks

From Feb. 22 to 28, Steamboat Springs hosted the Sunshine Kids 2015 Winter Games. Twenty-six recovering pediatric cancer patients had the chance to experience skiing, snowboarding, bowling, tubing, snowmobiling and sleigh riding, all in a welcoming Western atmosphere. Most importantly, they got the chance for a week to be just kids again.

This was the 10th consecutive year that Steamboat Springs has hosted the Winter Games. It would not be possible without the support of local businesses. In many cases, they donate the entire cost of their services and deserve public recognition.

So a big “thank you” to:

■ Steamboat Ski Resort

■ Smartwool

■ Steamboat Smokehouse

■ The Rio Grande

■ Howelsen Hill Tubing

■ Steamboat Sotheby’s International Real Estate

■ Colorado Event Rentals

■ Drunken Onion

■ Subway

■ Soda Creek Pizza

■ Sheraton Steamboat Springs

■ Saddleback Ranch

■ Johnny B. Good’s

■ Storm Mountain Express

■ Snowbowl

■ Black Tie Ski Rentals
