STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Want an evening of armchair adventure celebrating Steamboat Springs locals’ top voyages from the past year? Then plan to attend the third annual Steamboat Adventure Show on June 27 at the Chief Theater, highlighted by keynote speaker Kim Hess on her successful Seven Summits expeditions.

A portion of the proceeds from the show benefits Everything Outdoor Steamboat, an organization dedicated to getting children outdoors and fostering a love for adventure. The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:15 p.m. at the Chief Theater in downtown Steamboat. There will be light snacks and a cash bar.

“It’s always a great event and a fun way to see what some of town’s top adventurers have been up to during the past year,” said Steamboat Pilot & Today’s Julia Hebard.

During the show, locals featured in the upcoming Steamboat Adventures supplement of Steamboat Living magazine, published by Steamboat Pilot & Today, will share accounts of their various outdoor adventures through video, slide shows and presentations.

Featured presentations include sea kayaking Croatia by Eugene Buchanan; biking the Baja Divide by Mike Loomis and Bob Congdon; biking and climbing 50 14ers by Jimmy Howe; a short film on touring the Galapagos by Jennie Lay; and keynote speaker Hess, who will share her adventures climbing the Seven Summits.

Seating is limited, and tickets can be purchased at for $20 each. Contact Debbie Wilson for more information at 970-871-4207 or
