Kearney tops moguls podium

U.S. Freestyle Ski Team star Hannah Kearney didn’t waste any time leaping to the top of the podium. She won the first moguls World Cup event of the season on Saturday in Ruka, Finland.

“This was a huge confidence boost, especially since we have a long break now,” Kearney said in a Ski Team press release. “This lends to a much less stressful holiday!”

Steamboat Springs skier Eliza Outtrim was 11th in the event.

On the men’s side, Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury locked down first place. Patrick Deneen was the top American finisher, placing sixth after he lost his feet in the men’s second final.

Steamboat Springs skier Jeremy Cota, trying to earn a spot in February’s Olympics, didn’t finish his run.
