Katy Lee, Mayling Simpson: Thank you voters

We, Katy and Mayling, wish to thank all those who supported us by signing our petitions to run for the Steamboat Springs school board and voting for us on Nov. 7. You are invited to our swearing-in on Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Seventh Street school.

We hope you will stay in touch with us as we serve as your representatives. Your voices need to be heard. So, parents, teachers, grandparents and citizens without children in the school system, all of you count.

We are delighted that on Nov. 7 you passed the school bond issue ($12.9 million) and the mill levy ($1 million per year) that can be used for urgent school repairs and for keeping our school buildings maintained in the coming years.

Soon we will be addressing urgent issues of overcrowding in our schools and growing enrollment. The school board will be seriously considering the creative solutions suggested by the CC4E. We can use your additional input and ideas.
