Jon Kowalsky: The Bear thanks you
The Bear is about adventure, inclusion and community. North Routt County continues to complement our event and ideals; thank you to everyone who calls it home.
We are so thankful for the incredible individuals and organizations who support us. Without The Steamboat Group, Glas Deffryn Ranch, Honey Stinger, Big Agnes, Manic Training, Moots, Griggs Orthopedics, Soda Mountain Construction and Design, Alpine Bank, Smell That Bread, Point6, Yampa Valley Bank, Columbine Cabins, The Steamboat Lake Snowclub, WorkshopL ,Orange Peel Bikes and our awesome volunteers, we would not be able to have this adventure.
A big thank you is due to the Hahn’s Peak Roadhouse. They allow us and our friends to overtake their operation for the weekend, and we could not do it without their generosity.
The Bear isn’t taking a nap this year — no hibernation is on the horizon. We urge all of you to keep getting out there and moving just a little further out of your comfort zone, because we’ll be doing the same as we plan for the first weekend in August.
The foundation of The Bear is built on these words — they are the words we live by: Adventure burns brightest on the map’s edge; it’s up to us all to find it. We can’t wait to get to the edge of that map this summer with whoever wants to join… August 2019, North Routt County, 175 to 200 miles, 100 percent self supported, stay tuned.
