Joanne Linda Hough-Heed (1951-2004)

Joanne Linda Hough died Nov. 21, 2004, at her home in Maybell after a lengthy illness. She was 53.

Joanne was born Nov. 17, 1951, in DeLand, Fla., the daughter of Juhan and Maria (Aieillo) Hough. She was raised in DeLand and attended school there.

She became an X-ray technician and lived in Florida until moving to Steamboat Springs in 1989. She married Virgil Heed on Dec. 21, 1998, in DeLand.

Joanne and Virgil lived on his ranch northwest of Maybell. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses and anything to do with the ranch, and she enjoyed the company of many friends, whom she loved dearly.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Virgil Heed of Maybell; her mother, Maria Hough; one sister, Dorothy Reed and husband, Jim; and three brothers, Louis and wife, Vickie; Joey and wife, Carol; and Ricky and wife, Lisa, all of DeLand. She also is survived by nieces Heidi, Jessica, Chelsea and Bonnie Hough and Kimberly Reed and nephews Fred Hough and Ryan Reed.

Memorial services were held Nov. 23, 2004, at the Maybell Community Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice in care of Grant Mortuary.
