Jack McEncroe: Sept. 11 column was inspiring

Harriet, thank you for your wonderful reminder of what this day should mean to all Americans. It is not just the outrage, carnage and horror but rather, for a very short spell, all Americans came together as one. Ideologies, agendas and self-serving motives were set aside, and during that very short spell, we all cherished what we have as Americans: Freedom. The rest of the world, and seemingly almost half of our country, want that to change but for a very short spell. As you state so eloquently, “We remember.”  Thank you and Semper fidelis.
