IRS hasn’t, isn’t expected to, supply libraries booklets

The staff of the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs reports that the Internal Revenue Service has not supplied the library with instruction booklets for forms 1040, 1040A or 1040 EZ, nor are they expected to. The same is true in Hayden and Craig.

Taxpayers can find and read the instruction booklets online, and the library has public computers available. Or, taxpayers can visit the Bud Werner library and  find the pages they need in a binder.  The library can make copies of the relevant pages for them. However, as the entire 1040 booklet comprises 104 pages, the library is not able to copy the entire document for individual patrons.

The web address for the online versions of the instruction booklets is http://www.irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs.

Save Our Spurs sees success for downtown decorations

The Save Our Spurs campaign to raise money for new downtown Christmas decorations is off to a great start with almost half of the money raised, according to Jo Sarafis, fundraising coordinator. The deadline to purchase discounted spur decorations is today, so Sarafis is encouraging people to send in their donations now. Donations can be made to the MainStreet Steamboat SOS account at Wells Fargo Bank, or checks can be made out to Mainstreet Steamboat Springs with the notation of Save Our Spurs and sent to the organization at P.O. Box 774611, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Call Sarafis at 970-846-2053 for more information.
