Investigation continues into car that was stolen, crashed Saturday

— Steamboat Springs Police Department Detective Nick Bosick said no eyewitnesses have come forward in the theft and crash of a Jeep early Saturday morning in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

The Jeep was left unattended with the engine running as people were loading music equipment. The Jeep was later found smashed near the 13th Street Bridge by Bud Werner Memorial Library.

Bosick said detectives have been working the case but don’t have any definite leads.

“It’s just one of those things that we haven’t been able to find anyone to come forward,” he said.

Fingerprints and DNA were collected at the scene, Bosick said.
