William J. Cox

Air National Guard Airman First Class William J. Cox has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, and customs and received special training in human relations.



Cox received a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from Union University in Jackson, Tenn.

He is the son of Bill and Shannon Cox of Yampa.



C.J. Thomas

Navy Lt. C.J. Thomas, a 1984 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean and the Arabian Gulf while assigned to the destroyer USS Kinkaid, home ported in San Diego.

Thomas is one of the more than 10,000 Pacific Fleet sailors and marines deployed aboard the ships of the USS Constellation Carrier Battle Group and USS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group.
