PLANNERS APPROVE MIDDLE CREEK VILLAGE
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe Routt County Regional Planning Commission unanimously recommended the approval of the Middle Creek Village in Stagecoach.
If approved by the Routt County Commissioners in July, the subdivision will consist of 12 single-family lots on a 4.3-acre site. Each lot is between .17 and .29 in size.
They will be clustered into two pods; one pod with four lots and one with eight.
Coleman Cook, who is involved with the project, told the Planning Commission that the houses will average between 1,400 and 2,000 square feet in size and will be two stories with unfinished basements.
“I think the homes will conform nicely to the area,” said Commissioner Don Alperti.
Cook said if all goes well with the county, building of the homes could start in July or August.
LIBRARY SPONSORING KIDS’ ART PROGRAM
OAK CREEKThe South Routt library District is sponsoring the third annual Summer Art Program for incoming first- through sixth-grade students.
This is a six-week program, beginning June 11, with classes giving students an opportunity to do pencil art, sponge painting and poetry. At the end of the six weeks, the children will compile all their work into a book. The classes will be held at the Oak Creek Library and the Yampa Library. The cost is $10, which covers all supplies.
Also during the same period, the library will hold a summer reading program for elementary students and classes will follow the art program classes. Call one of the south Routt libraries to register before June 6.
