Hypnotist to headline Hayden Booster Club fundraiser
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A Denver-based comedy hypnotist will be the featured entertainment for the Hayden Tigers Booster Club’s fifh annual Fall Activities Gala on Saturday.
The Booster Club is a nonprofit organization made up of parents and community members. It was formed to fill the gap in funding for athletic funding.
Parent Heather MacGillivray said in the past year, the Booster Club helped with the purchase of uniforms and much needed athletic equipment, paid sport fees for needy students, provided meals for traveling teams and contributed funds for the hiring of a year-round athletic trainer for student athletes.
MacGillivray said budgets and programs have been reduced in recent years, especially in the secondary schools sports programs.
“The extracurricular activities offered at the Hayden Schools provide opportunities for our students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, competition, and a sense of culture and community,” she said.
The Fall Activities Gala starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Routt County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.
The event will feature Rusty Z from Denver Comedy Works. There will be a prime rib dinner, drinks, appetizers and a silent auction.
Tickets can be purchased from any Booster Club member, online at 2017HaydenBoosters.EventBrite.com, or by calling Booster Club president Chris Guire at 970-846-2732.
There will a limited number of tickets available at the door.
Child care is being provided by the Hayden Valley Elementary School Health and Wellness Team for $10 per child with reservations required.
