Hunt details: Doing this hunt solo tested my endurance, commitment and mountaineering skills, while turning out to be the most memorable and rewarding hunting experience of my life.

This 3 1/2-year-old goat was taken Oct. 1, 2008, from above a 13,000-foot elevation with a Tekka .270 rifle at about 50 yards, resulting in a horn breaking during a free fall down a cliff and an ice couloir. The goat has 8-inch horns remaining, and its weight was estimated at 150 pounds.
