Hoffman’s shutout sets up Steamboat’s first win

— The Steamboat Springs High School hockey team hit the road Saturday and picked up its first win of the season, knocking off Liberty 3-0 in Colorado Springs.

That win came a day after the Sailors played Battle Mountain to a 5-5 tie.

Steamboat two goals from Jonathan Kaminski and one from Grant McNamara on Saturday. Kaminski’s first gave the team a 1-0 lead early. He and McNamara then both scored in the third period to put the game away.



Adam Hoffman faced 14 shots in goal and saved them all.

Steamboat next plays at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday at Regis Jesuit.
