New terrain at Steamboat Ski Area continues to open this week, with the addition of hike-in access to Pony Express area terrain Thursday.

Earlier this week, the ski area opened 51 trails and more than 1,200 acres in just two days, including Bar-UE, South Peak and Sunshine Express lifts with access to the popular Tomahawk trail.

On Friday, the ski area opened expert terrain off Mount Werner, including the Chutes, Christmas Tree Bowl and North St. Pats.

Rabbit Ears Terrain Park also opens Thursday.

Next, ski area staff will work to open the Pony Express lift as well as remaining trails and Mavericks Terrain Park.
