Health briefs: Drop-in flu shot clinics planned

Steamboat Springs — Flu clinic, cardiovascular screenings planned
Northwest Colorado Health is holding a drop-in flu clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Mountain Valley Bank, 2201 Curve Plaza. Flu shots will be available for all ages. Attendees are asked to bring insurance cards. Low-cost options are available for those without insurance. Cash and checks will be accepted. Free cardiovascular screenings (including blood pressure and blood glucose tests, BMI and cholesterol panel) will also be available. Drop-in flu clinic in Clark
Northwest Colorado Health is holding drop-in flu clinics in Clark on Monday, Oct. 17. The clinics will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at North Routt Charter School and from 4:15 to 6 p.m. at the Clark Store. Flu and pneumonia shots will be available for all ages. Bring Medicare, Medicaid, CHP+ (Child Health Plan Plus) or other insurance cards. Low-cost options are available for those wi thout insurance. Alzheimer’s presentation Oct. 19 in Hayden

Steamboat Naturopathic offering specials for national naturopathic medicine week
Naturopathic medicine week is set for Oct. 10 through 16. The week was created through a congressional resolution recognizing the value of naturopathic medicine in providing “safe, effective and affordable health care” and encouraging Americans to learn more.

Natural Grocers presents turkey talks
Nutritional Health Coach Alicia McLeod will present “Let’s Talk Turkeys” from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, Saturday, Oct. 22 and Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Natural Grocers, 335 Lincoln Avenue. Attendees can stop by the Q&A Turkey Table and have questions answered about the difference between free-range, free-range organic and heritage bird turkeys.
