Hayden cowboy Keenan Hayes has earned money in all three rides of the National Finals Rodeo following the third round, Saturday night.

Hayes took over the world No. 1 bareback ranking after the first round on Thursday when he won over $20,000 on an 85.5 point ride.

Since then, Hayes has followed that up with an 85 point ride on a horse named All Pink in the second round for over $23,000 and another 85 point ride in round three on the back of Pejuta Haka for over $8,000.

Now accumulating $281,243.89 in total this season, Hayes holds a near $24,000 lead over world No. 2 Rocker Steiner who had not rode into money until round three. World No. 3, Jess Pope, is $60,000 behind Hayes.

The National Finals Rodeo runs through Dec. 14 and its bareback riding portion hosts the top 15 ranked cowboys to battle over the 10 day span, riding one bronco each night. Each round is centered around big money and the rider who has accumulated the most earnings across the entire season by the end of the 10th night, is named world champion.

This season, Hayes has amassed 13 rodeo wins, including the New Years Eve Buck and Ball, San Angelo Cinch Chute-out, NFR Open and Larimer County Fair and Rodeo.

Hayes is no stranger to the moment. Last season, he broke several records including becoming the first cowboy to win a bareback riding world championship title in a rookie season. He also became the holder of the highest bareback single-season earnings total at $434,050.

He is poised to earn his second title in just two years.
