Hayden woman killed in motorcycle crash

Kathleen Frentress Preator, 65, of Hayden, died Oct. 1, 2003, as the result of a motorcycle accident in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. She worked as a secretary for the Routt County Courthouse and worked at Yampa Valley National Bank, now First National Bank of the Rockies, before retiring. Sgt. Pat Bonner of the St. John City Police said Preator and her husband, Bob, were the only people involved in the accident, and Bob had minor injuries. Bob Preator is a former athletics director at Hayden High School. Lucy and Bryan Rickman were riding their motorcycle in front of the Preators when the accident happened, friend Mark Fischer said. Kathleen Preator died at the scene. Memorial services are pending.
