Hayden volleyball falls in 3 to Cowboys

The Hayden volleyball team lost its first match of October with a three-set defeat at the hands of Plateau Valley on Saturday.

The Cowboys defeated the Tigers, 25-19, 25-21, 27-25, in the league game in Collbran.

“They played really, really well,” Hayden coach Becky Burdick said about her team. “Plateau Valley is a lot better (than in recent years).”

In an effort to help the team, Burdick changed the starting lineup, inserting sophomore Jacquelyn Denker into the front row. Denker previously had been a back row player.

“She’s a bullet,” Burdick said. “I just changed a couple things around.”

Official statistics from the game were misplaced, so no offensive or defensive stats were available.
