Hayden volleyball ends regular season with win

— The Hayden High School volleyball team finished its regular season on a high note Saturday with a 3-0 win at De Beque. Set scores were 25-19, 25-12, 25-16.

“We played well,” Hayden coach Dayna Hunter said via text. “Everyone played together and did their part. I saw a lot of momentum today.”

The win followed a 3-0 loss at North Park on Friday. Set scores were 25-8, 25-22, 25-17. The Tigers finish the regular season with a 2-16 record, both wins coming over De Beque (1-17).

Next, Hayden will host Hotchkiss (3-16) at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the pigtail play-in game of its district tournament. The winner advances into pool play Friday with Paonia (16-3) and Vail Christian (16-3).

Soroco (10-8) is already qualified for Friday’s pool play at Grand Valley, and will compete against Cedaredge (15-4) and Meeker (9-10) in Pool A. Pool C is comprised of West Grand (17-2), Rangely (11-7) and Vail Mountain (6-12).
