Hayden to finalize details for special marijuana election

Matt Stensland

— The Hayden Town Council on Thursday is expected to finalize the details for a special election related to marijuana cultivation.

Town staff members will deliver their reports at 7 p.m. The regular meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The special election is slated for Jan 26.

Ordinance 666 was approved by the town council Aug. 6 in a 6-1 vote. The ordinance allows for the regulated, commercial growing of marijuana.

A group of residents gathered enough signatures to put the ordinance to a vote. Only those living within the town will be able to vote.
