Hayden strong at local wrestling triangular

— It was a good night, as simple as that, Hayden High School wrestling coach Chad Jones said.

Soroco High School welcomed its two nearest Class 2A rivals Thursday night, and the Tigers came away the top dogs, going 8-0 in varsity matches against the Rams and West Grand.

“It went excellent,” Jones said. “The boys wrestled really well and had great effort. Their conditioning was up to par, and I was excited.”

“We really appreciate Soroco and West Grand for helping us out and doing another triangular to keep some local wrestling in the area,” Jones said.

The Tigers are off this weekend to a tournament in Wyoming.

“It will be teams from Wyoming and Nebraska. It gives us a little variety before regionals,” Jones said. “There won’t be any of our regional competitors there. I kind of like that. We won’t have any kids getting into our kids’ heads right before regionals.”
