Hayden Reader of the Week: Noah Mortenson

Noah Mortenson, 9, was named as the fifth Reader of the Week for the Hayden Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. His sister Reyne was last week’s winner. His parents are Colt and Kristin Mortenson. Noah has one older sister named Rosalie, 12, a brother Wyatt, 11, and Reyne, 6. The family has two dogs: a Jack Russell terrier named Jasper and a Weimaraner silver, one leopard gecko named Spot and a tarantula named Harrietta Rose.

Noah’s family lives between Hayden and Craig. They moved here more than three years ago from Price, Utah.

Noah’s favorite color is dark green and food is corn dogs. He loves reading the series “Big Nate” by Lincoln Peirce. Noah enjoys the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week series. In his spare time, he plays basketball with his friends Landon and Taytem. He is a downhill skier. Noah’s favorite activity at school is gym and playing capture the flag. He would like to be a chef when he grows up. Noah likes building cars with Legos.

Noah is looking forward to camping with his family at Ashley National Forest in Utah and cooking hot dogs.

Noah’s advice for younger readers is, “There is always a book for you.” Noah was very excited and jumped for joy when he found out he had won Reader of the Week. Noah picked “banana dogs” for the Bingo and Cooking program next week.
